Reading from Revelation 20:1-7
The Thousand Years
20 And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. 2 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3 He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time.
4 I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They[a] had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy are thos
How do we overcome dark seasons in our life. We all do have dark difficult seasons at some stage of our life, we struggle, we fall down.. but the question is how do we get up again and not just stay there.

This life is not easy, but we are not able in this life. We have an enemy, the devil, he wants to bring us down, hurt us, destroy us, he wants to make you feel you're worth nothing. He work is to kill, steal and destroy us. But hey don't be afraid, we have the upper hand, we have Jesus on our side, he will protect us. The enemy can not harm us. Jesus came to earth to give us eternal life, life in abundance. So don't worry about the enemy, he's already been defeated.

Jesus said that he will never leave us nor forsake us. and that He will always be with us.
Grace, what is it?
Grace may be defined as the unmerited or undeserving favor of God to those who are under condemnation.

Undeserving favor of God, means because we are sinners, we deserved to die, because the penalty of sin is death, and yes we deserved to die but Jesus came to this world and he paid the price for us, and instead of us dying, we took our place and died for us, so that we all of us who believes in Jesus can have eternal life.

You don't have to do anything, just need to believe in Jesus that is the son of God and that he died for the forgiveness of our sin and that all my sins have been washed away. and we are righteous, we are holy.

If you believe in Jesus, you have been saved, you will not die, even though you die, you will live eternally.
Our Identity?
Grace Evangelical Church is an evangelical Christian Church based in Hamilton. Our basis is the whole-hearted commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour, and to the Bible as God’s spoken Word.

Why Grace?
The word “Grace” in our name means that as Christian believers we recognise that our relationship with God is entirely the result of His free grace and mercy. We rejoice in a loving God who has made our hearts to glow with warmth and thankfulness to Him for the wonderful blessings which He has abundantly given us.
Sermon preached by Pastor Philippe Coetzee at Grace Evangelical Church.

Pastor Philippe shares from Romans 1:15-17,

15 That is why I am so eager to preach the gospel also to you who are in Rome.

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of Godthat brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed-a righteousness that is by faith from first to last,[a] just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."[b]

Paul's greatest desire was to preach the gospel and he was not ashamed of preaching the gospel, because it is through the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed.

Jesus Christ came to earth to demonstrate to us who the father is. Jesus was sent by the Father to demonstrate the father to us. When Jesus lived on this earth, he lived a life in complete obedience to God, doing only what he heard the father said. Jesus was showing us as an example that if we live a life that is Holy and pleasing to God we can do greater things that Jesus did.
Who is the Holy Spirit?

Holy Spirit is God’s Spirit, God the father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, they are all one. When Jesus was on this earth, He was full of the Holy Spirit and even though Jesus was God, he lived on this earth with the limitations of a man, and because Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit he performed all miracles by the power of Holy Spirit.

And he was setting up an example for us that we can do greater things than what Jesus did only if we live a life without sin and believe in God.
Have you ever thought why on earth are you here for? What's your purpose for your life? Does your life matter? We often ask these questions at some stage of our life. You can try to figure out life by yourself by watching TEdTalks, Inspirational videos, read inspiring books. Life isn't about how successful you are, how much money you make, how big house you own, the kind of car you drive. None of these matters. The person who can help you find your purpose of your life is God. He knows your purpose of life because he created you. and He knows everything about you he even knew you even before you were born.
So What is a Church?

Is is the building that defines what is Church or is it the people that makes up the church?

Church is the body of Christ and Jesus Christ is the head of the church. Christ died for the Church, we are the church, which means Jesus Christ died for us so that we can live a life like Jesus did. Jesus lived and modeled a life that we as followers of Jesus should live. He lived a sinless life. He never sinned. and lived a life that was pleasing to God.

So we are the church and we carry Jesus in us wherever we go. Church is when a group of people gather together with the sole purpose of worshiping Jesus and learn more about God.
